Driving Hope: Operation Warm and Subaru® Team up to Make an Impact

Operation Warm Subaru Loves to Help

As we enter the heart of winter, the spirit of giving and community support has become more vital than ever. Which is why we are thrilled to announce a new national partnership with Subaru that will drive warmth, comfort, and hope to children in urgent need across the country.

Bringing Essentials to Children in Need

Millions of children and adults facing homelessness and other urgent need situations have to go without proper fitting essentials that keep them warm – often coats, shoes, and even socks. At Operation Warm, we believe that helping others is the foundation of a strong community and that every child, regardless of circumstances, deserves to have these items that they can call their very own. This belief resonated deeply with Subaru and their retailers, who are steadfast in their commitment to supporting individuals and families.

Amplifying Support Through Partnership

During their Subaru Loves to Help® month, from January 15 through the end of February, our collaboration with Subaru will help serve over 150,000 children living in urgent need. Subaru and their retailers are not just supporters; they are active participants in our mission. Throughout Subaru Loves to Help month they will visit local homeless shelters and support agencies to provide kids with brand-new coats, shoes, and socks.

This new partnership brought us the unique opportunity to serve more communities and types of organizations in new ways. Operation Warm programming has always focused on providing essentials to the children who need it most, and it was important to Subaru do the same - specifically through mobilizing their dedicated retailers to support homeless shelters and other urgent need organizations through event activations. We’re excited to be reaching over 625 communities in need of our support through these new types of activations, and to bring organizations the resources they truly need the most with the addition of providing socks as well as coats and shoes.

More Than Just Clothing

These items are more than just clothing; they are symbols of care and beacons of hope.  At Operation Warm, our mantra "More Than A Coat" signifies the transformative power of our gifts. In partnership with Subaru, a company that embodies the spirit of "More Than A Car Company," we go beyond material support by providing essentials that not only protect and keep kids warm but also significantly impact their mental and emotional well-being, ensuring their active engagement in school and activities.

“By pairing our own commitment to be ‘More Than A Car Company’ with Operation Warm’s mission of being ‘More Than a Coat’ we’re providing children in urgent need with the opportunity to select and own the brand-new necessities they deserve.”

Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing | Subaru of America, Inc.

No child should ever have to face the dilemma of going without essential clothing. This is a belief firmly held by Subaru, making them the largest automotive supporter of Operation Warm. Through this partnership, we are not just providing physical comfort but also nurturing confidence and a sense of normalcy in children's lives.

Gratitude That Goes the Distance

We are so grateful for this partnership that will allow us to expand our reach to so many children and families that need it. Together with Subaru, we are spreading warmth and hope, one coat, one pair of shoes, and two pairs of socks at a time.
