At Operation Warm, we rely on a vast network of funders and beneficiary partners to help us serve children in need. These partners are providing vital support within communities that otherwise have few resources to turn to. We are continually inspired by the amazing work they do to build a brighter, more equitable future for children and their families. To wrap up Women’s History Month, please join us in celebrating one of our beneficiary partner organizations and one of our funding partner organizations that are supporting women and girls in hope for a brighter future:
Women Bridging the Gap
Partnership with Operation Warm: Beneficiary of 444 coats
Mission: Women Bridging the Gap is an organization that provides a variety of services for women and families. These include housing support, drop-in childcare, parenting classes, food, clothes, and holiday toys for children.
What does Women’s History mean to you?: I am proud to be a woman because women have done so many amazing things for this world, despite the obstacles we have faced over time. Women are why we have fire escapes, life rafts, and so many more accomplishments in the world. There are so many great things that women accomplish on a daily basis that helps to make the world a better place, and I am proud to be a part of that. I can appreciate and celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of the great women who have come before me. “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish."- Michelle Obama
The Erie Women's Fund
Partnership with Operation Warm: Donor in support of gifting coats and shoes to children in the Erie area
Mission: The Erie Women’s Fund (EWF) is a women-led fund that is part of the Erie Community Foundation. Devoted to empowering women and families, EWF funds initiatives to help women and families reach self-sufficiency. The fund addresses basic minimum needs in areas including childcare, food insecurity, healthcare, housing, and workforce training and education.
What does Women’s History mean to you?: When women come together to give, to learn, to uplift and to support each other, it’s a powerful experience. Women’s history month provides the opportunity to celebrate that experience and the many amazing contributions women have made to our society. Through our grants, Operation Warm being among them, The Erie Women’s Fund continues that legacy and helps other women to do the same. I’m fortunate to be a woman and to be a part of such an outstanding philanthropy group.
