Firefighters for Operation Warm Inventory Update

As of November 28th we have no more made-in-the-USA coats available for this winter season. Operation Warm’s mission is to provide brand-new winter coats to children in need to support warmth, wellness, school attendance and self-esteem. We appreciate your support and want to bring our mission to life in your community.
To fulfill the commitments you have made to children this winter, any orders placed through the end of the season will be filled with our standard coat. We are sorry for this inconvenience. On a positive note, our standard coats, which are manufactured abroad, are $18 each, instead of $34, which allows you to serve more kids!

USA Coat Inventory FAQs

Made-in-the-USA is very important to my Local. How did this happen?

We understand. American manufacturing has always been very important to us as well. However, our USA manufacturer has informed us that due to increased workloads from the Department of Defense, our contract was re-prioritized. Many IAFF Locals far exceeded their goals for the year and unfortunately, coupled with the manufacturing issues, we have run out of inventory much sooner than we anticipated.

Will there be more made-in-the-USA coats later this year?

No, there will not be any more USA made coats until next winter. We place our coat order a year in advance based on the previous year and our predicted growth for next season. This year, our growth outpaced our expectations.  Since we are a non-profit, we do not warehouse coats after the winter season due to expense. Therefore, when the coats are gone, they are gone until the following year.

I already sized the kids, what now?

We encourage you to consider ordering our standard coats to ensure that you have the sizes you need. The standard coats come in sizes 2T – adult XXL, have a removable hood and come in a variety of great colors. Many IAFF locals have already made the decision to switch to standard coats solely because it allows you to serve more kids. Our standard coats are $18 each, instead of $34.

Why don’t you find another U.S. manufacturer?

We are currently researching alternative manufacturing options in the USA.

Can I get a refund?

All donations to Operation Warm support our non-profit’s mission to provide brand-new coats to children in need. We do not issue refunds, noting that tax acknowledgements and regular reporting has been issued. You may also choose to rollover your funding to use for your coat program next year. If you do not desire to use the funding toward your local campaign, we will ensure funds are used appropriately.
