  • Skilled Volunteer: Customer Service Consultant

    About Us: 

    Operation Warm creates brand new, high-quality winter coats and then gives them away to children in need.     About Our Volunteer Positions:

    Primary Function: 

    Operation Warm is looking for an experienced Customer Service Manager to provide a consultation and help us improve our processes to better support our donors.

    Responsibilities for Customer Service Manager:

    • Review training materials (FAQ, Script)
    • Review customer service processes
    • Make recommendations for improvement

    Qualifications:

    • 5-10 years experience in customer service
    • Experience with non-profit a plus

    Timeline:

    We request that volunteers make a minimum 10 hour commitment to this project. Operation Warm will share an initial overview of our project requirements. A weekly volunteer check in call will be scheduled. Project should be completed by Aug 31.

  • Skilled Volunteer: Designer Apparel Marketing

    About Us:

    Primary Function: 

    Operation Warm is looking for assistance with apparel marketing and graphic design to create a size and fit guide for the children’s coats we gift each year.

    Responsibilities for Children’s Marketing Designer: 

    • Review size and fit guide goals
    • Using Operation Warm brand guidelines, create a standard size and fit guide for our children’s coats
    • Help Operation Warm develop an additional visual aid that shows the common sizes per age group
    • Share additional expertise on how we could improve our sizing tools.

    Qualifications: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
    • 3-5 years of experience in apparel graphic design
    • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
    • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
    • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Excellent eye for detail
    • ***Prior experience with Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software is required.

    Timeline:

    We expect that volunteers make a minimum 10-15 hour commitment to this project. Operation Warm will share an initial overview of our project requirements. A weekly volunteer check in call will be scheduled. Project should be completed by July 31.

  • Skilled Volunteer: Program Strategist

    Primary Function: 

    Operation Warm is looking for a strategist to help us evaluate and reimagine our programming.

    Responsibilities for Strategist:

    • Review the existing suite of Operation Warm Programs (Warm Schools, Community Heroes, A Warm Welcome to the Library)
    • Provide recommendations on how programs could better fulfill our mission to be #morethanacoat
    • Use outside research to support recommendations
    • Provide a written summary of ideas and guidelines for Operation Warm leadership to consider

    Qualifications for Strategist:  

    • Creative thinking
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to research independently
    • Ability to articulate ideas in a written report and present them
    • Experience with non-profits or the education field a plus

    Timeline: 

    We expect that volunteers make a minimum 10-15 hour commitment to this project. Operation Warm will share an initial overview of our project requirements. A weekly volunteer check in call will be scheduled. Project should be completed by August 15.

  • Skilled Volunteer: Graphic Design

    About Us:

    Primary Function:

    Operation Warm is looking for a Graphic Designer to help us optimize our marketing collateral.

    Responsibilities for Graphic Designer

    • Create and design various materials for print and digital collateral
    • Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
    • Adhere to creative direction and organization’s brand guidelines
    • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications
    • Perform retouching and manipulation of images
    • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software

    Qualifications for Graphic Designer

    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field
    • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design
    • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web

    About Us:

    Operation Warm would like to improve our use of Google analytics and Google Adwords. If the following questions sounds like you – we could use your help!

    • Do you enjoy executing and managing digital ad campaigns?
    • Do you have a proven track record with Google Ads, particularly with search?
    • Do you love looking at the numbers and analytics behind ongoing campaign optimization?

    Timeline:

    We request that volunteers make a minimum 25 hour commitment to this project. Operation Warm will share an initial overview of ours system. A weekly volunteer check in call will be scheduled. Project should be completed by July 31.

    **Prior experience with Google Analytics/Adwords is required.

  • Corporate Partnerships Intern (ongoing)

    Operation Warm is a national non-profit organization with a simple mission – to provide brand new coats to children in need across the United States. Operation Warm has reached nearly 2 million children since inception in 1998. We are seeking a mature intern to join our team as a Corporate Partnerships Intern in our Glen Mills, PA office this fall.

    The Corporate Partnerships intern will support the Corporate Partnerships & Cause Marketing team as they develop and nurture relationships with the program sponsors. The position requires good writing skills, and an interest in non-profit fundraising/sales.

    Responsibilities:

    • On a daily basis interns will read the news and compile relevant articles about current and potential partners
    •  Build and help manage the partnerships pipeline
    • Help develop partner specific presentations
    • Monitor media for potential spokespeople and help reach out to them in a timely fashion

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 day commitment per week
    • Highly collaborative, proactive and positive work style with a follow-through attitude.
    • Analytical and forward thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Independent worker

    This internship may be put towards college credit, but is unpaid.

  • Project Management Intern (ongoing)

    Operation Warm is looking for an outgoing, organized and creative individual, wanting to make a difference in the world by helping others!

    We’re a national nonprofit organization with a simple mission – to provide brand new coats to children in need across the country. This spring, we are seeking an intern to join our Projects & Events team for 2 – 3 days a week.

    The Operation Warm Project Management internship will allow you to immerse yourself into the nonprofit culture, working alongside various departments and team members to give you a well-rounded experience.

    This intern will report to the Projects & Events Manager and assist both the Project Management and Marketing team to facilitate and assist in the completion of internal project requests. Projects are broad and range from research to graphic design.

    Qualifications:

    • Pursuing Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
    • Minimum 2 day commitment per week
    • Must be able to commute to our Chadds Ford Headquarters

    Skills:

    • Ability to multi-task
    • Basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
    • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Computer savvy
    • Ability to meet deadlines
    • Works well in both team and individual environments
    • Adaptability to work on various projects
    • Highly collaborative, proactive and positive work style with a follow-through attitude
