Press Release – Horizon Services and Camden Firefighters to Provide Nearly 500 Brand-New Winter Coats to New Jersey Children in Need

Horizon Services Partners with Operation Warm Coats for Kids Foundation

Camden, NJ – Nearly one in three children in Camden live in poverty and necessities like warm winter clothing can be hard to come by.

On Wednesday, November 8, Horizon Services and Camden Firefighters, IAFF Local 2578 & Local 788 will provide nearly 500 brand-new winter coats to children in need at Riletta Twyne Cream Family School in Camden through its partnership with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing winter coats to children in need.

Since 2010, Horizon Services has helped donate more than 3,000 new coats through Operation Warm’s firefighter and employee volunteer programs.

“We are excited to partner with Operation Warm again this year. At Horizon Services, it’s important to us to give back to the underprivileged young people living in the communities we serve by giving them a new coat for the upcoming winter,” says Mark Aitken, co-owner of Horizon Services. “It’s easy to take for granted a necessity like a coat that most of us have, but for these children, it’s a necessity their families may not be able to afford. I am glad that our company can not only provide a coat, but that our employees can participate in this event and see their excitement and appreciation first hand when they receive their brand new coat.”

“We can’t thank the Horizon Services’ team enough for their continued commitment to help children in need of warm winter clothing,” explained Brock Clauser, Director of Marketing at Operation Warm. “By giving children NEW coats, they are not only providing them with physical warmth, but emotional warmth as well. A brand-new coat for a child in need, particularly right before the holidays, brings them so much joy and hope.”

Horizon Services volunteers and Camden Firefighters will visit the Riletta Twyne Cream Family School to personally fit each child with a new coat and help them write their name in the interior tag which reads, “Made Just for You.”
