Operation Warm Offers Major Impact for Service Organizations

Operation Warm is proud to have provided service organizations with an impactful way to reach and positively affect their communities. The relationship with organizations that provide localized community service began more than 20 years ago with Operation Warm’s founder and a single Rotary club on the east coast. Today, the impact on children, families and communities has extended all across North America through hundreds of service clubs large and small.

What started out with a plan for addressing an immediate need has grown into a well-organized program that offers major impact for service organizations.

Coats for Kids, A Warm Welcome to the Library and So Much More

Operation Warm has a dedicated team focused on empowering service clubs for major impact in their communities by providing brand new coats to children in need. Through decades of experience and research, the Operation Warm team is able to offer flexible community service programs that address needs for warmth, confidence, hope and education.

For example, the Warm Welcome to the Library Program is a three-hour event that can be run with just ten volunteers. This program supports Rotary Clubs, Elks Clubs, Kiwanis Clubs and other service organizations who want to bring a community together while also addressing two pressing needs, warmth and community connection. It is a popular service project, because it provides an easy way to produce a tangible impact.

The Major Impact of Rotary, Elks and Kiwanis

More than 280 Rotary Clubs in more than 50 districts have partnered with Operation Warm to conduct service projects that provide brand new winter coats to children in their communities. In fact, Rotary clubs have provided over 300,000 children all over the country with new winter coats, helping us impact communities we could never reach on our own. Each club identifies its own beneficiary organization(s), typically local schools or youth services agencies, and raises funds locally to support its project.

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks have provided more than $25,000 worth of brand new coats to children in their communities, with the support of Operation Warm.

This year, Operation Warm was honored by being officially selected as a national partner of the Elks. The honor is particularly significant to Operation Warm, as it was given during the same year the Elks celebrate 150 years of dedicated community service.

The Elks just added the Operation Warm A Warm Welcome to the Library program as a national grant opportunity.

The main objective of Kiwanis International is to serve the needs of kids through local service projects, improving the lives of children one community at a time.  Kiwanis clubs host approximately 150,000 service projects each year, and with missions so closely aligned, it is no surprise that Operation Warm is a preferred fundraiser.

In partnership with Operation Warm, Kiwanis clubs have given coats to over 2,000 kids and we are excited to grow this partnership in the years to come!
