Operation Warm & Oklahoma City Public Schools Team Up for Coat-A-Kid

SHARE:

For many Oklahoma City families, warm coats are a luxury they simply cannot afford. 90% of Oklahoma City Public School families live in poverty. For them, basic needs are a real struggle. Thousands of OKCPS students could go without warm coats this winter. Imagine thousands of children walking to school cold or waiting at bus stops in freezing temperatures. In the worst cases, children simply won’t go to school on the coldest winter days. The leaders of the OKCPS Coat-A-Kid program face great odds. Nevertheless, they are rising to the challenge and fundraising is in full swing for this winter! Their goal: raise enough to purchase brand new winter coats for more than 7,000 students!
