No Excuses University Supports Operation Warm

The No Excuses University Network of Schools selected Operation Warm as their 2013-2014 Charity of the Year. Their growing national network of over 180 PreK-12 schools has united over 113, 000 students and over 6,000 educators from 21 states. “We believe every student deserves the opportunity to be educated in a way that prepares them for college if they so choose to attend.” Said Frank Nardelli, VP of Network Development for No Excuses University. “It is our responsibility to prepare our students for a happy and successful future. An essential part of that effort is focused on the character development of every child and adult that works in a No Excuses University School.” Students in over 65 NEU schools have raise over $23,000 for Operation Warm this school year. With this support, more than 1,150 children living in need will receive the gift of a new Operation Warm winter coat, empowering them to attend school on cold winter days.

“We believe ALL children, even those who live in poverty or who are learning English, can be academically successful and attend college. Most importantly, we continue to prove that Public PreK-12 Schools have the power to make that dream a reality. It is our responsibility to prepare our students for a happy and successful future. An essential part of that effort is focused on the character development of every child and adult that works in a No Excuses University School.”

Students in over 65 NEU schools have raise over $23,000 for Operation Warm this school year.  With this support, more than 1,150 children living in need will receive the gift of a new Operation Warm winter coat, empowering them to attend school on cold winter days.

No Excuses University feels it is essential for their students to learn to appreciate what they receive as well as the value of giving. During the 2012-2013 school year, an average of 74% of all of the students in their Network of Schools qualify for free or reduced lunch.  Everyone involved with NEU identifies with the daily struggles of families and especially children across America who are in need.

NEU Network selected Operation Warm as Charity of the Year because of the direct and positive impact Operation Warm has on the lives of kids across the United States. NEU passionately supports Operation Warm’s belief that every child deserves to feel “warm, healthy and valued” and appreciate that having a new, quality coat, “enhances a child’s well-being, builds self-esteem, and generates a feeling of worth for children living in poverty.”

Henry Ford said, “Coming together is a beginning.  Keeping together is progress.  Working together is success.” The No Excuses University Network of Schools is proud to partner with Operation Warm and proud of the accomplishments of its students.  For more information about the No Excuses University, visit www.noexcusesu.com.
