Kimpton Hotels & Operation Warm: A Partnership Born in the Emerald City
Our growing partnership with Kimpton Hotels is improving the lives of children in Seattle.
Why Does Kimpton Partner with Operation Warm?
Kimpton began supporting Operation Warm’s mission in 2016. Anne Johnson, Marketing Director at Kimpton Hotels, explained why, “It’s really important to our team to help our neighborhoods as it really provides us with a sense of purpose. A local organization like Operation Warm that helps kids and their families in our own backyard really struck a chord within all of us.”
Our partnership with Kimpton began with a single hotel, the Alexis. The campaign was simple; for every hotel room booked that was attached to a conference room, $2 was donated to Operation Warm.
The following year, four Kimpton hotels in the Seattle area participated: The Alexis, Palladian, Vintage, and Monaco. The partnership provided enough coats to serve children at two local Head Starts in Seattle.
Linda Sherran, Operation Warm’s Seattle Partnerships Manager, expresses, “We are so fortunate to have the support of Kimpton and their fabulous employees. These campaigns were successful because of their employees’ genuine commitment to raising awareness of our mission and to helping kids in need in the community.”
Kimpton Increases Their Impact in 2018
This year, Kimpton is doing even more to improve their community by participating in our employee volunteer program. Kimpton Hotel employees will gather in their own community for a high-energy day of team building and fun to provide coats to children in need.
“Since the beginning of the company, 37 years ago,” Johnson explained, “Kimpton has been dedicated to a level of social responsibility that begins with our teams, extends to our guests and is included in everything we do. Operation Warm provided a platform for us to align with our partners and clients to help give back to the Seattle community.”
In 2017, 2,383 coat requests went unfunded in Seattle. Operation Warm is dedicated to improving the lives of children in the Puget Sound area and doubling our impact in 2018 with the help of outstanding volunteers and partners like Kimpton.
Operation Warm is building a Volunteer Brigade in Seattle to serve even more children in need.
“We are excited for the growth of Operation Warm in the Puget Sound Area and are committed to help advance the program,” Johnson stated.
