Kids Who Are Changing the World
The fact is that kids are a powerful force for good. They often approach any task with great enthusiasm and creativity, and they can be instrumental to solving problems both in their communities and the world at large. They see the problems in our communities and know that when people come together, there is nothing we can’t do.

When he crosses the finish line in Springfield, Vermont on Tuesday, 14-year-old Nikolas Toocheck will be completing a three-year quest to run a marathon in each of the 50 U.S. states – and he’s running for a cause. He is raising money for the Seva Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides critical vision care to people in need around the world.
“I can’t imagine not being able to see,” says Nik, “and I really hope that I can help change that for a lot of kids.”
Kindness and social action runs in the family. Nik is the grandson of Operation Warm founder Dick Sanford.
Five years ago, when he was just nine years old, Nik ran to provide warm coats to children in need through his campaign, Running the World for Children. You can read more about his adventures here.

When he was six years old Jonas Corona founded the nonprofit organization, “Love in the Mirror,” a nonprofit that provides basic necessities to homeless children and youth.
Now a thriving organization, it also strives to inspire other young people to make a difference, promote the development of self esteem and provide the opportunity to learn leadership skills, all while continuing to support disadvantaged families.
“Every child should look in the mirror and love what they see,” says Jonas.
