Coats for Kids: Fourth of July Fundraiser

PHILADELPHIA – June 30, 2016:  Nonprofit, Operation Warm, announced its new ‘Coats for Kids July 4th Fundraiser’ initiative to bring warmth to American kids in need while also supporting American jobs. In honor of the Fourth of July, anyone has the opportunity to have their gift matched through the end of July, thereby creating a greater impact for children in need.

Operation Warm has issued a challenge to all those who want to help keep kids warm this winter. If Americans find it in their hearts to help fund brand new American-made winter coats for kids, we will match all funds up to $25,000, with a campaign total fundraising goal of $50,000. Anyone interested in being part of the Coats for Kids 4th of July Fundraiser can learn more at Operation Warm’s website operationwarm.org.

These funds will go directly toward the production of warm fleece-lined coats crafted by American workers, which will be given to children in need in local communities around the U.S. this fall and winter. Operation Warm believes that a brand new coat not only keeps a child physically warm, but also supports self-esteem, peer acceptance, school attendance and overall wellness.

“No one is thinking about coats in July, but summer is when we ramp up manufacturing for coats needed during winter,” explains Operation Warm founder and chairman, Dick Sanford.  “Funding from this campaign will help us in our goal of increasing production of American-made coats for kids in need across the country.”

Operation Warm is a nonprofit organization founded on the conviction that children born into poverty have a lesser chance to reach their potential. With the support of generous donors, Operation Warm come together to make a difference for these children by providing them with new winter coats that have an immeasurable effect on their lives.

For over a decade, Operation Warm has increased the number of brand new coats that are given to children year over year. In 2016, the nonprofits goal is to give over 300,000 coats to kids in need. When supporters donate to Operation Warm and when their partners help distribute new winter coats, they are rewriting the script of child poverty in America.

About Operation Warm:

Operation Warm is a national nonprofit organization empowering children in need by providing them brand new winter coats. Our organization was born in 1998 when the first 58 coats were donated by our founder, Dick Sanford. Since then, millions of children have received brand new coats as a result of communities united, working together to improve the lives of children living in poverty by giving them a fundamental life necessity: warmth. Each year, we create a new line of winter coats in updated styles and colors to ensure that Operation Warm coats become the pride and joy of children who rarely feel the emotions connected to receiving a brand new piece of clothing.

For a child, a brand new winter coat can be #morethanacoat. Give to Operation Warm or start your own fundraiser at www.operationwarm.org
