Give a Child in Need the Ultimate Back to School Gift
Operation Warm believes a good education and consistent school attendance is one of the best ways to help a child break out of the cycle of poverty. A new winter coat goes beyond a piece of clothing and helps a child get to school with confidence on cold and wintry days.Give
You’ve seen children in your neighborhood heading back to school eager to learn, grow and make new friends. And before you know it, cold winter weather will move in, and children around the country will need to bundle up to keep warm on their daily trek to and from school.
But what if you were one of the 15 million children living in poverty in the United States? Can you imagine being a child who couldn’t get to school simply because you didn’t have a coat to keep you warm?
School districts around the country experience a decrease in school attendance when the weather turns cold. That’s why Operation Warm is hard at work now. We’re busy creating brand new coats for this upcoming winter season to give to children who need them the most.
But we need your help if we want to reach as many children as possible before it gets too cold!
“Children living in poverty are more likely to miss school... each day absent affects a student's test scores and grades.”
“Thank you for giving us those wonderful coats. All I have are sweatshirts. Now I can play in the snow and won’t get cold!” – Justin, 4th grade
Gearing Up for Back to School
Before the first leaf falls, children all over the nation are gearing up, literally for back to school. Operation Warm has been gearing up as well. Since the beginning of the year, we have been hard at work putting everything in place so we can serve as many children as possible with the warm brand new winter coats that they will need this year. From raising funds to sewing the coats, it is all hands on deck. We plan on giving away hundreds of thousands of coats to American children in need this season.Read More
