4th of July Fundraiser FAQs

For the fourth consecutive year, Operation Warm is holding its Coats for Kids 4th of July Fundraiser to help our fire fighter partners kick start their 2019 fundraising and receive matching donations in the process. We are asking donors to Celebrate Our Nation’s Fire Fighters and Help You give brand new coats to kids in need Across North America.

During the 4th of July fundraiser, online donations from individual donors will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000!

The goal of this campaign is to bring new donors into your program. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ON HOW TO QUALIFY FOR A MATCHING DONATION.

why should my local get involved?

Our annual 4th of July campaign has turned into one of our most successful fundraisers, with tens of thousands of dollars raised each year for Operation Warm’s Fire Fighter partners.

How will my donation be matched?

Anonymous funders have stepped up to match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000.  Remember, the goal of this campaign is to encourage new donors or past donors to give.  We have a limited amount of funds for matching this year. To qualify, you must:

Can I send you our fundraising check to be matched?

No. Because of our limited match funding, only individual donors outside of your Local will qualify for matching donations. Remember, this campaign is meant to encourage new or past donors to give to your program.

When will I receive my matching donations?

Matching funds will be added to your account when you submit an order for coats this fall.

how do i get my supporters to participate?

Email and social media are the most effective ways to fundraise online.  When the campaign launches, Operation Warm will send out emails to you and post on social media through the week of July 4th.  We encourage you to follow our Facebook pages, and share our posts or emails with your supporters. Don’t forget to include a link to the fundraising page!
