FedEx Cares Volunteer Day Memphis 2018

On Thursday, November 8th, FedEx Cares volunteers visited Hawkins Mill Elementary School in Memphis, TN to provide brand new Operation Warm coats to every child in the school. The event was extra special for the children when they received a big surprise visit from Chandler Parson, MarShon Brooks, Shelvin Mack, Ivan Rabb and Wayne Selden of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The event at Hawkins Mill is one of 15 schools that Operation Warm and FedEx Cares are visiting this fall to give away over 7,500 brand new coats.

For several years, FedEx Cares and FedEx have provided tremendous support to Operation Warm. Not only have FedEx Cares volunteers provided thousands of coats, but since 2008, the in-kind support from FedEx will help deliver coats to nearly 500,000 children across North America.

“We have a lot of walkers [to school], and so making sure that they’re bundled up as they’re walking down the street will be something that the parents will ultimately appreciate, as well.”
