World Vision, FedEx and Operation Warm Team up in Minnesota

November 03, 2010

Crunch, the Minnesota Timberwolves mascot, helps a child at The Jackson Preparatory Magnet Elementary School in St. Paul, MN.

The school is the first public school in St. Paul to offer a Hmong Dual Language Program, which is designed to have students vecome bilingual, bicultural and biliterate. Hmong is a language indigenous to Vietnam, Laos, parts of China and other areas of Asia. Over 200 coats were provided to children in the school, which is Pre-K thru 6th grade. For many of our coat programs, we work with organizations to further their objectives. In this case, the coats were provided to children whose parents participated in a parent teacher conference designed to get parents more involved in their child's education.

One of the highlights of the day was the arrival of Crunch, the Minnesota Timberwolves mascot, who hugged the children and helped them with their coats.

Our appreciation to the Minnesoata Foundation, the St. Paul Foundation and the Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation for funding this great project and to our partners World Vision and FedEx, it was a true team effort.
