A. Operation Warm works directly with international manufacturers to design and manufacture the coats we distribute. Many organizations like to conduct coat drives. Operation Warm will accept new coats with the retail tags still affixed to the coat.
Q. Does Operation Warm collect used coats?
A. No, Operation Warm only distributes new, winter coats. For many of the children we serve, their coat is the first article of new clothing they have ever received.
Q. Does Operation Warm give coats to individuals?
A. Coat recipients must be part of a social service agency, school, or church that serves disadvantaged children and can provide proof of non-profit or tax-exempt status. We do not give coats to individuals.

A. Operation Warm will direct you to the partner agencies to whom Operation Warm distributes.
Q. How does Operation Warm decide who gets the coats?
A. Operation Warm selects its strategic partners through a lengthy due diligence process.
Q. When do the coats arrive?
A. Typically, Operation Warm's coats clear U.S. Customs in early September and are distributed to agencies across the nation shortly thereafter.
Q. How does Operation Warm get the coats?
A. Operation Warm works directly with manufacturers overseas to design and build the coats, according to strict regulations and with enormous guidance from the American apparel industry.
Q. Can a social service agency, school, or church sponsor its own children?
A. Yes; the cost to sponsor a child is $15.
