What We Do
“More than 16 million children in the United States live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level.” - National Center for Children in Poverty
Warming the hearts, minds and bodies of children, Operation Warm inspires hope and empowers communities by providing NEW winter coats to children in need throughout the U.S. Since we began in 1998, Operation Warm has provided a gift of warmth and self-esteem to nearly 2 million children.
At the center of Operation Warm’s philosophy are partnerships, for alone we cannot conquer the overwhelming need to assist children in poverty. Through our community-based partners, Operation Warm provides families with brand new winter coats for their children, while other organizations leverage our coats to deliver:
- Social work
- After school programs
- Education assistance programs
- Life skills training
- Healthcare offerings
In 49 states and the District of Columbia, we work locally with agencies serving youth, corporate and foundation donors, community and faith-based service organizations and corporations looking to give back.
We also work directly with manufacturers, both overseas and through our USA-made coat program. This allows to efficiently design, produce and distribute our very own, high-quality coats to our exact specifications. The children we serve adore Operation Warm’s coats with our bright colors, detachable hoods and soft fleece lining.
Please consider supporting our work with a recurring gift.
