Since its inception, Operation Warm has worked closely with Rotary Clubs to share vision and spread mission. In 1998 when Operation Warm’s Founder Dick Sanford bought 58 coats in a store, the Longwood Rotary Club joined him in the first real effort to expand both the fundraising and distribution of coats.

Today, over 100 Rotary Clubs in more than 50 Districts partner with Operation Warm to conduct local service projects that provide new winter coats to children in their communities.  In fact, Rotary Clubs have provided over 50,000 children all over the country with new winter coats, helping us impact communities we could never reach on our own, from New Hampshire to Texas; the Pacific Northwest to the Midwest.  Each club identifies its own beneficiary organization, usually local schools or youth services agencies.

It's easy.

• You raise the funds necessary to purchase the number of coats needed by the children you choose to support.  Many clubs find this to be a great platform for raising money from non-Rotarians while increasing the club’s profile in the community.

• Your club decides when and where you want to distribute the coats. Giving the coats to kids is an exciting and emotional event and you can get help with these events as well.

• A detailed presentation, suitable for a club program, can be viewed here:

• Our Rotary Coat Order Form may be downloaded by clicking here.  Coats are ordered in boxes of 6 same size and gender coats (in multiple colors), with only a 5 box minimum.  Your club can do a project benefiting local children living in need for less than $600.

Contact Operation Warm (rotary@operationwarm.org) and we will help you organize your project.  Operation Warm will help you step by step to develop your project.
