Rotary Clubs

Since its inception, Operation Warm has worked closely with Rotary Clubs. In 1998 when Operation Warm’s Founder Dick Sanford bought 58 coats in a store, the Longwood Rotary Club joined him in his first real effort to expand both the fundraising and distribution of coats.

Today, over 60 Rotary Clubs nationwide work directly with Operation Warm and run local club programs to support needy organizations.

In fact, Rotary Clubs have provided over 25,000 new coats to children all over the country. Today, Rotaract projects are beginning to spring up around the country as well. Right now, Operation Warm has an Ambassador Scholar from Rotaract working with Rotary Youth on a new project.

In the US today, there are over 13 million children living in poverty, and your Rotary Club can join other clubs around the country that are helping poor children.

It’s easy.

Watch how the Derby Shelton Rotary Club in Connecticut executed an Operation Warm project in their community.

Contact Operation Warm and they will help you identify an organization to support in your local community.  Operation Warm will help you step by step to develop your project.

  • You raise the funds necessary to purchase the number of coats needed by the children you choose to support. $15 is all it costs for a new winter coat.
  • Your club decides when and where you want to distribute the coats. Giving the coats to kids is an exciting and emotional event and you can get help with these events as well.
