The University of Pennsylvania

The University of Pennsylvania was able to donate a new coat to every child at The Wilson School.

Members of Penn's Panhellenic and MultiCultural Greek sororities raised funds by having bake sales, soliciting friends, parents and fellow students and raised over $ 4,500. That allowed the group to provide new coats to over 300 students in need at the nearby Alexander Wilson School, a public elementary school, about a half mile from the campus. Each student at the school was required to bring an empty plastic bottle, which is part of Operations Warm's green initiative that will soon feature new coats that are made of recycled plastic bottles. Next year members of the sororities plan to continue their effort and select another school with children in need in Philadelphia.
