  • Business Development Consultant

    Business Development Consultant, Corporate Sponsorships

Operation Warm is a nationally active non-profit organization providing new winter coats to economically disadvantaged children living throughout the U.S. We believe that a winter coat promotes self-esteem, confidence, school attendance and over all wellness. A new winter coat can be more than a coat. It tells a child “You’re worth it.” A new coat inspires pride and joy in a child, while also increasing peer acceptance inside and outside of school. Operation Warm coats are branded and manufactured to our specifications, and more than 20% are Made in America. We serve 300,000 children each year and have warmed the hearts of 2 million children since our founding in 1988.

We are seeking a proven business development professional who will contribute to the strategic direction and development to more than double our volunteer base in the Pacific Northwest. Our programs are conducted by corporate employees, grass roots organizations like firefighter locals, youth services agencies, school districts, Rotary Clubs, and “coats for kids” organizations. Funding is developed through sponsorships, cause marketing campaigns, grants, employee giving campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising and individual donations. Recent corporate sponsors have included major national organizations in technology, retail and oil & gas for example. Operation Warm provides project management support, assists with the selection of the coat beneficiaries, and organizes the logistics of local coat distributions, utilizing Operation Warm coats.

The Business Development Consultant will be responsible for identifying prospect organizations and, together with Operation Warm, converting them into program partners who can raise funds and provide volunteers to participate in local coat celebrations. The consultant will have existing corporate relationships at the executive level with proven abilities in developing relationships, communications, fundraising, working with a marketing team, and managing volunteers. Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising and CRM systems for prospect and donor management, tracking campaign needs and progress, preferred.

Position located in Seattle, WA or Pacific Northwest area. This is a remote position and will report to the organization headquarters in Pennsylvania.
